Will Mary J. Blige Sing Her New Burger King Club Hit, “Crispy Chicken,” At This Weekend’s White Party?

The Sword’s wall-to-wall White Party 2012 coverage continues today with an exclusive look at the Mary J. Blige video no one wants you to see, especially White Party promoter Jeffrey Sanker.

As announced last month, The Sword will be interviewing Mary J. Blige when she headlines this weekend’s White Party in Palm Springs (don’t forget to help me pick an outfit for the event), and The Sword has obtained a sneak peek at one of the songs that the R&B diva/fried chicken lover might be performing at the annual circuit party.

The “Crispy Chicken” jingle premiered online prematurely yesterday, prompting White Party promoter Jeffrey Sanker to demand that Burger King remove the video from the internet. Sanker told The Sword, “Mary’s “Crispy Chicken” was intended to debut during her set at White Party this weekend, so we’re a little confused as to why Burger King jumped the gun. Shame on Burger King.”

Sanker went on to say that “Crispy Chicken” is “destined to be a gay club anthem” regardless of Burger King’s flub.

“Whether you’ve heard it just once before it was pulled or you managed to download a copy and have already listened to it 1000 times, the magic of “Crispy Chicken” speaks for itself. I have no doubt that Mary J. Blige will electrify the White Party when she sings “Crispy Chicken” live this weekend!”

Here’s the unedited “Crispy Chicken”:

  1. I heart Mary J!!

It’s been reported the ad’s being pulled because of the racist implications (sigh, must EVERYTHING be about race?? It’s 2012 for God’s sake, not 1950!)

I thought it was a cool ad. She’s got a bangin’ bod & great voice. And the jingle was catchy.

The ad won’t make me go to BK though. I haven’t eaten fast food (other than the occasional In-N-Out Burger) in YEARS.

It’s not conducive to maintaing the abs.

    ;-)

  2. I’m not black and I eat fried chicken. Does that make me racist?

Now I have that song stuck in my head. I must be a White Supremacist.

  3. I don’t know whether you’re being serious or not lol

I did, however, hear about that commercial getting pulled off the air, and some people believed it could have been due to racism because since she’s black she’s fitting the stereotype that only black people like fried chicken.
