Yikes! Utah Governor Officially Signs Off On State Porn Ban

Well, it happened! Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox officially signed legislation on Tuesday that will automatically block all pornography from phones and tablets sold in the state.

The goal of the measure is to block children from viewing any adult content they’re not supposed to see, but would not permanently block porn from anyone’s phone or tablet. The pornography ban comes in the form of a filter that can be turned on and off. In order to fully go into effect, a similar law will need to be passed in five other states.

While the legislation is favored by many of the state’s conservative politicians, it has gained many vocal critics. The ACLU of Utah has said that the bill will be likely argued in court and The Daily Beast published an open letter from adult star Cherie DeVille to governor Cox earlier this week condemning the law.

Honestly, everything about this legislation reads as extremely stupid, a violation of everyone’s first amendment rights, and just reminds us of the NakedSword Originals production of Golden Gate 5: The Cover Up. That project involved a messed up politician naked Scott Cox who was trying to clean up their community, but ended up being the one with all the dirt!

Now, we’re not saying that life is imitating art or anything, but this story of a politician named S. Cox does sounds pretty similar to another story of another politician named S. Cox! So we wouldn’t be surprised if a certain S. Cox had some skeletons come popping out of his closet sometime soon… I mean, one can only hope!

So what do you think? Do you think the government should automatically ban porn from phones? Do you think this law is a little too much? Do you live in Utah? What do you think?

  1. It will never get past the Supreme Court. This is a first amendment issue all the way. I have kids, and I understand the need to protect our children. But there are soooooo many screens, filters, etc, and ways to block viewing from our kids that work…as well as just plain talking to our kids..i did, and it worked. It’s called communication! But this bill goes way beyond this, the Gov is just struting for his constituents come election time.

  2. Really is this important news, considering this bastard is the governor of cult controlled UTAH? Who wants to bet this guy’s got his secret porn stash yet he wants to ban other Utahans from their right to view porn/. just another ‘do as i say and not as i do politician. this pretty much sums this up. Really who in their right mind especially gay people would want to live in Utah and be treated like a child unable to make his/her own decisions?

  3. What’s really funny about all this is that The Marriott Corp is owned & based by a lot of Mormon big shots from Utah and they approve and stand behind having the porn channels on all their TV’s at the hotel rooms worldwide. It’s big money and they won’t through it away. Don’t blame them either. But this Gov Cox is trying to make a point with a few individuals he has around him. I don’t think it’s a Republican party thing.

  4. Universal Potentate

Republicans are so sexually repressed. Monster trucks and guns are their outlets, aside from their own children (yes, that is statistically accurate). Meanwhile their wives are “researching” QAnon conspiracies about child sex slavery in nonexistent DC pizza store basements.
If you’re trying to dig up dirt on Cox, just ask his kids about their childhoods.

  5. YA’LL need to not backtrack since that parody politician was based on scott wiener, the guy who wanted to turn san francisco SFW for all those new annoying straight clean cut arrivals. Ugh he brough such shame to Harvey Milk’s supervisor seat.
