XBIZ Awards Rebrand as XMAs, Open 2025 Pre-Noms

After 20+ years, the XBIZ Awards have rebranded as the XMAs. XBIZ Media has also opened the pre-nomination phase for the 2025 show—which will take place January 19th in Hollywood.

To be eligible for nomination, movies, scenes and products must have been released, and newly launched websites or brands must have debuted, between Oct. 1, 2023, and Sept. 30, 2024. No more than five entries per category may be submitted by any individual, brand or representative acting on their behalf. [Note: The pre-noms for Fan Favorite categories, all new this year) will run from Oct. 1-31.] Industry professionals who are registered members of XBIZ.net can access the pre-nominations portal here through Sept. 30.

You can see a full list of the categories here, but these are the gay categories:

  • Best Gay Feature Movie
  • Best Gay Non-Narrative Movie
  • Director of the Year — Gay Works
  • Gay Performer of the Year
  • Best Sex Scene – Gay
  • Gay Site of the Year
  • Fav Gay Performer (fan award, pre-noms open Oct. 1)
  • Fav Gay Creator (fan award, pre-noms open Oct. 1)

The XMAs have also previously put some nominators for performers/companies who do gay content in its more mainstream “straight” categories. Falcon | NakedSword picked up a Studio of the Year nom before, and Marc MacNamara earned a Best Cinematography nod for the NakedSword Originals hit Get.Away). But it’s unclear how that will be handled this year. Who are you rooting for?
