Woody Fox Talks Condoms, PrEP, & Bareback

Falcon Studios Group exclusive Woody Fox speaks his mind on bareback for him, bareback for you, and the roles of PrEP and condoms in a candid declaration – and yes – in that accent.

As gay men, we’re a microcosm of society with all of its layers of similarities and differences.

We embrace diversity as a whole.

But when it comes to bareback and PrEP, we’re sadly just as polarized and the rest of the country.

That was made abundantly clear in the comments made on the post for the “Raw Power” trailer, the first bareback movies Raging Stallion released in their almost 20-year history.

I don’t think Woody Fox was using that thread as the impetus for video, but in less than a minute, he addressed virtually every concern that was raised.

So as you might have seen in my story, I just got invited to do a big, bareback porn scene.

So exciting, but I did say, “no”.

The reason I said no isn’t because I am against bareback sex.

I think go for it. If you’re educated and you know what you are doing, you have the sex you want to have.

But the thing is with porn, for me, I don’t know what teenager or young person is watching my porn.

I don’t want them to get the idea that bareback sex is the norm before educating themselves.

So educate yourself, know what you are doing, get on PrEP.

If you want to have bareback sex, do it – but be safe about it.

If you don’t, that’s OK. Condoms are cool too.

So don’t shame condos. They are kind of fun.

I like skins.

Arguably, the most important part of Woody’s advice is to educate yourself.

Gay men of a certain age remember losing friends by the bucket loads and when the “AIDS cocktail” was almost a toxic to the body as the disease itself.

The newest generation learned about living with HIV, not dying of AIDS. And yes, they also grew up in a world where PrEP and Truvada are often romanticized into miracle pills.

PrEP is not perfect. It has a strict dosing schedule and can be financially out of reach for too many. However, when taken properly, it’s effectiveness at preventing thr transmission of HIV is betwee 92 & 100%.

AIDS still has no cure. But it can now be treated in a way that now only make it possible for those with the disease to live quality lives, modern antiretroviral therapy can make a person virus undetectable.

We know that people with HIV who are undetectable can’t transmit HIV. Who says so? The CDC.

And let’s not forget one inconvenient truth that cuts across everyone’s views: next to abstinence, PrEP and a condom is the ultimate way to protect yourself.

No one’s judgment should be clouded by the initial fear and panic of the ’80’s. No one should be making their decisions solely on the happy faces and plucky copy in a Truvada brochure either.

Woody is right: talk to a healthcare professional and make an informed decision based on the latest scientific information, weigh the risks of each one, and have a happy, safe sex life that works for you.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled pornography.

  1. I am surprised sometimes by gay men who show what little education they have if any when it comes to HIV and prevention. As for gay teens using porn to learn about sex that is so wrong we should have comprehensive sex education in school that includes same sex relations. Our youth should not be using an entertainment product to learn about sex.

  2. I applaud this actor for his courage in expressing his opinion regarding a real issue facing gay youth. Educate yourself before you make such an important decision. Think with the head on your shoulders not the one in your pants. The accent doesn’t hurt either.

If You are going to have SEX with whoever you want too, Please protect yourself and your sex partner. Thank you!

  4. Shaking my head at the PrEp preachers. PrEp doesn’t protect against STDs. Condoms do. The rise in STDs among gay men is skyrocketing and these STDs are getting harder and harder to treat. But yeah, keep using PrEP and talking about HIV no longer being a death sentence. What’ll it take to wake people up? An incurable, new super STD? Oh, wait. That already happened…

  5. dear woody all you say iis ok..but you’re in a relationship (or not) with wesley wood and he’s not prootect in most of his videos…explain that please..cause i dont get it…

  6. When I grew up, not using condoms was literally asking for death. The only people who didn’t use condoms were either suicidal or out to kill other people. Bareback porn was basically snuff films.

That belief is ingrained in me at a pretty much genetic level. No amount of medical advancement is going to make it go away, therefore I still feel the same way about all the bareback porn that floods the industry today. At a basic, instinctive level, it feels WRONG.

And honestly, I’m okay with that. That belief has sustained me through 40-plus years and 1,000-plus sexual partners, and I’m still here with all my immune system intact. I see no need to change it, even if the rest of the world does.
