It’s Utah Pride week in Salt Lake City, starting with Shitwrecked tonight and featuring an appearance by The Jarics this weekend (SLC’s Gay News Now has the deets). It’s also Pride weekend in Austin, El Paso, Detroit, Kansas City, Tulsa, New Jersey and West Virginia (where the dog show[!] has been postponed til Sunday).
There’s also a kickoff party on Saturday for PrideFest Key West, and in Boston there’s Pride Day at Faneuil Hall, and the start of the Boston LGBT Film Fest.
If you’re in Florida, it’s One Mighty Weekend in Orlando, the center of which is Gay Days at Disney World.
For members of the Gay Rodeo Association, it’s Sierra Stampede Weekend in Sacramento, featuring many butch gays who’ve actually earned the right to wear chaps.
And across the pond it’s Oxford Pride in the UK, and it’s the culmination of EuroPride in Zurich, Switzerland.

What’s the Big Idea? @ Yerba Buena Center for the Arts701 Mission Street

It’s a big, “Fellini-esque,” homo shitshow at the YBCA, featuring full access to the galleries (including the Sisters’ archive show, and a Nick Cave sound suit exhibition), and performances by poster-tranny Monistat, Anna Conda, The Ex-Boyfriends, The Pansy Division and music by Honey Soundsystem and DJ Dirty Knees. The RSVP list is closed, meaning you may have to stand in line, but if you arrive early you’ll probably get in.
