But allow us to leave you with this token of our appreciation — our second annual Gay-Ass Fourth of July Mixtape, which we think is even more fun than the first. Listen to it during your BBQ, or while you’re dancing around the house preparing for your post-BBQ gay goings-out.
And we didn’t set out to be all anti-American about it, but this mix does happen to be almost entirely composed of non-American artists, so, go figure. The exceptions are the last three tracks, which bring the mood down a bit and take us to a more lesbian place: a remix of America’s “Horse with No Name” by Todd Terje, Rufus Wainwright’s American boredom anthem “Going to a Town,” and Aimee Mann’s “4th of July.”
Oh, and that’s Argentinian-born Londoner Marco Blaze with the flag over his face and torso.
