Conner Habib’s great intelligence can not be contained to 140 characters, my friends!
I have, in the past, rolled out some eyeroll GIFs in response to porn star turned porn intellectual and professional tweeter Conner Habib’s deep thoughts on Twitter. And I’ve avoided beating this dead horse because, well, a lot of people say a lot of shit of Twitter that is basically the point of Twitter.
But Conner keeps at it, unabated, and he’s especially fond of sharing lengthy thoughts that might best be expressed in another forum that doesn’t have a strict character limit, only then he would not have the validation of his now 33,400 (!) followers. So he continues posting lengthy philosophical musings in tweet series, sometimes in 6 tweets, sometimes in 26, each of them numbered.
So, below, a few of Conner’s recent, extended, thoughts, in case you missed them.
1
If we don't combine critiques, my friends, we are lost. And I don't mean, here, the hollow promise of "intersectionality."
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 10, 2015
2
Intersectionality is essentially a consumerist approach to understanding. Collect each identity!Pose them next to each other like figures!
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 10, 2015
3
I get that instersectionality has value, but let's drop this nonsense that it combines critiques. It is ONE critique, masquerading as many.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 10, 2015
… and let’s skip ahead to parts 11, 12 and 13 of this series…
11
And the big solution is supposed to be "intersectionality" – No. That's simply buying all the critiques and pretending you own them all.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 10, 2015
12
It's really kind of a cheap shot. "I own all perspectives, so I don't have to participate in creating my own."
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 10, 2015
13
Work to really create your own critique. Of everything. Sit and observe the world. Really sit and observe/engage.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 10, 2015
Here’s a good one, from recently.
Journalists who feel qualified to comment on porn star intelligence: I promise you, journalists are by&large way stupider than porn stars.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 9, 2015
If you’re wondering if he has a lot of time on his hands, he does!
1
This was the first week of my #BookADay endeavor, and I did it! I read an entire book each day this week. Here's what I read:

And he’s been solving the problem of the porn industry’s struggling economics.
8
One of the main reasons porn is "failing" (read: big business porn) is that desire is more personalized, but big porn bodies are uniform.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 10, 2015
9
So yes, we can blame the internet for the failure of porn, but we miss much of the point if we think it's because ppl can watch for free.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 10, 2015
10
It's also because people are bored by that version of bodies and desire, and the internet has freed them from that obligation to it.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 10, 2015
Just to give you an idea of what his real life is like…
David Lynch movies seem so much closer to real life than any "realistic" movies.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 8, 2015
And he does not believe in money.
3
Economics is a completely overblown, overcomplicated, & stupid excuse for a discipline. Money has no value. (watch the apologies flood in)
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 7, 2015
4
We should use our growing anger at money to decolonize our minds from the settlement of wealth and the deity of ANY monetary system.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 7, 2015
5
Of course you can't simply change if the system doesn't, but it can only change when we do. Start now, in small ways, to destroy money.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 7, 2015
On November 5 he actually posted a 27-part tweet. I’ll just excerpt it, because nobody got time for that.
1.
The sad truth is, many people on social media that claim to be fighting injustice are instead THRIVING on injustice. Drinking it in.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 5, 2015
3
I have seen it in almost every oppressed community on here, including my own. People of color, sex workers, queers, trans, etc.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 5, 2015
8
In other words, much of the "social resistance" we see on twitter and facebook, shares the tactics and gestures of Israel.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 5, 2015
14
We owe it to ourselves to move beyond being victims that bully others. And yes, a victim who bullies is not only possible, but common.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 5, 2015
15
The reason why it is so common is that when anyone utilizes the ideology of the victim, they lose site of who is actually in power.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 5, 2015
18
We aren't just more than our wounds, we are better than them. We are stronger than what wounded us.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 5, 2015
26
Do I want to forgive the oppressor? YES. When that seems appropriate, I am open to it. I must be. Otherwise I AM the oppressor.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 5, 2015
27
If I believe otherwise, I am echoing the US prison system. I have carceral politics.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 5, 2015
And a few days before that, there was a 19-parter that probably could have been summed up in a sentence or two? Just saying.
1
We must take care, as we spread the urgent/necessary message of "sex work is work," to not turn consumers into numbers or dollar signs.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 2, 2015
2
Otherwise we turn into dehumanizing capitalists.
I'm not saying sex workers must love work, or love every client.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 2, 2015
4
Unfortunately one of the things I'm noticing amongst sex workers, including porn performers, is the narrowing of the lens to economics.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 2, 2015
6
The pitfall of thinking that focuses so much on labor and economy (esp. Marxist/socialist) is that it tends to reduce everything to that.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 2, 2015
7
Even when we don't mean for it to do so, it's a trap. Watch out. And that is why I think it's important to remember: Sex work is also sex.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 2, 2015
14
This is what a career in sex work that is legitimate by legalization does – it makes our relationships purely monetary. It dehumanizes.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 2, 2015
…
19
In other words, we will win a battle for rights, and the victory will erase the deeper cultural and self-investigation we need to do.
— Conner Habib (@ConnerHabib) November 2, 2015
Will someone please take his phone away and make him go write a book in the woods for a year, or something?
Thx.

Gurl’s been tweeting with his thesaurus open again.
The most interesting thing to come out of his mouth was Girth Brooks’ dick.
I live, bitch, I liiiiiiiiive!
I love the hypocrisy in anyone who mentions that money has no “value” when they’re not those people living off the land in the middle of nowhere.
This is the most boring post I have ever scrolled through. Who cares?
Big fan of Conner’s porn but this was a yawn.
Nothing worse than a faux-intellectual.
