Paris Hilton Announces 2020 Presidential Run

Kanye West isn’t the only celebrity looking to take over the Oval Office! Your favorite blonde reality star is throwing her hot pink hat into the ring for the upcoming election.

That’s right – Paris Hilton is running for president! The Simple Life star tweeted out her move into politics earlier this week on social media. With the announcement, Paris also tweeted out some photoshopped pictures of her in the Oval Office that feature “Paris For President” text stylized to look like the Barbie logo. She also coined the hashtag #MakeAmericaHotAgain.

“After a lot of thought and consideration. I’ve decided the Oval Office needs some redecorating and a woman’s touch,” Hilton tweeted. “Should I make the Oval Office into a Heart Shape Office?”

While a lot of the star’s fans loved the idea of President Paris, many seemed to have the opposite reaction. Fortunately for them, this campaign seems to be a joke. (Unfortunately for us, the Kanye campaign still seems to be a real thing…)

So while it’s great that she’s not actually running, there really shouldn’t have been anyone who thought she was serious in the first place. Jokes about her wanting to become president have been around since the late 2000s. It’s basic American history at this point.

It all started when Republican nominee John McCain said that Barack Obama was just a celebrity like Paris Hilton or Britney Spears. Paris responded by calling him an old man and announcing that she is running for office herself. Then she released what is probably the best song of the 2000s. Check it out below:
