OnlyFans Confirms Porn Ban, Sex Industry Lifts Its Middle Finger

As The Sword first reported on Thursday, OnlyFans released a statement that starting October 1, it would “prohibit the posting of any content containing sexually-explicit conduct.” That sent shock waves through the porn community, as the content creation platform serves as a substantial source of income for many. But there was confusion for most performers about the actual terms of that ban, and many theorized that it would only affect unverified accounts. OnlyFans noted that a more detailed statement would soon be coming.

On Friday, and as shared online by Brock Banks, the company emailed its content creators about official changes to its Acceptable Use Policy that would go in effect October 1: “The new policy will prohibit the posting of any new content containing sexually-explicit conduct. Content containing nudity will continue to be allowed as long as it is consistent with the policy.” OnlyFans also noted that “Existing content that does not meet the standards of the new policy will need to be removed before December 1, 2021.”

The company explained that banking institutions and payment processors were objecting to the sexually explicit content and that the changes “are the only way to help ensure the long-term sustainability of OnlyFans.”

The new policy bans content that “shows, promotes, advertises or refers to ‘sexually explicit conduct.'” As shared by Roman Todd on Twitter, that specifically refers to: actual or simulated sexual intercourse, including genital-genital, oral-genital, anal-genital, or oral-anal, between persons of any sex; actual or simulated masturbation; any exhibition of the anus or genitals of any person which is extreme or offensive; actual or simulated material depicting bodily fluids commonly secreted during sexual conduct.

OnlyFans released a statement on Twitter thanking sex workers and noted it was “working around the clock to cone up with solutions” (whatever the hell that means). It did not go over very well…

The official announcement has content creators immediately promoting other platforms:

JustFor.Fans noted a surge of inquiries from content creators and even had to fend off a DDOS attack and shared that it was hoping to move its infrastructure today or tomorrow:

Now that it’s official, how damaging to the industry and sex workers do you think this development will be? Will you be subscribing to more performers on JustFor.fans, 4myFans, RawFuckClub or other platforms?

  1. Who cares. I refuse to pay for porn and I damn well am not going to help pay the salaries for a porn person. Cry me a river, go work a street corner for your salary.

what you have said is not funny so dunno why you think it is ok to basically someone HIV ridden and “unclean”. Also Austin WOlf could easily sue your for defamtion and libel for you spreading horrific lies about him being a paedophile. A lot of the boys that work with austin work with a lot of other daddy porn stars as well yet you dont callthem all paedophiles. Also don’t you know that you must have an ID to even upload porn or take part. It is a legal fucking requirement.

    1. What school did you attend??? Did they not teach you spelling honey??? Girl, they are called fake id’s for a reason. Please learn some proper english.

    2. You are the only one that called Austin a pedophile. The other person called it, “questionable” big difference. Shame on YOU for calling someone a pedophile.

  3. OnlyFans just signed its own death sentence. Porn, both softcore and hardcore, is all that the site is known for. The company’s attempt to convince us that they are known for anything else, is pathetic. Oh well. At least we still have other similar sites to turn to. OnlyFans as a website was a bitch to use, anyway. Poorly designed and slow as hell.

It seems that JFF is poised to win this battle. HOWEVER, they had a better website than OF to begin with. They charge a 30% commission. That’s why Boomer Banks listed sites that do not charge more than 20%.
If JFF temporarily reduced its commission, say for 1 year, it would come out ahead.

Oh, that would be wonderful! I have a terrific chili and 10 bean casserole which is fabulous but you want to eat it during a long weekend at home, alone if you know what I mean.

  5. At least we will get rid of Griffin Barrows. He is such a overused unclean whore and won’t be missed. Where is that, to catch a predator, Austin going to find his little questionable youngster’s? Lol

  6. Although I get where the content creators are coming from, I feel like they just don’t understand the logistics behind it. OnlyFans is trying to find a way to let them post stuff – for the time being, only “non-sexual nudes” – without being censored, but this is all they can do for now, as their only other option at this very moment is probably to close down or at the very best, provide a service that’s far below the standards consumers would expect, as they wouldn’t have the funds to do better.

With that said, they should’ve thought ahead. I’m glad there are other platforms available that can show how it’s done. This is like Tumblr all over again.

    1. with the caveat that tumblr was FREE, if people didn’t stuck with tumblr, which was FREE, what makes you thing they will stick around Only Fans which has a subscription fee
