Is this even legal?
Porn star Mason Dean took to Twitter yesterday to announce that he was fired from his job because a “disgruntled former employee” reported his porn career to HR. Mason decided to look on the bright side and point out that while he’ll miss his job, he’ll be able to spend more time on his porn career.
Got fired today because a disgruntled former employee reported my porn work to HR… I’ll miss my job but at least I’m more available to film and collaborate… just hope I can still make ends meet and get insured

Many of his followers went in to comfort Mason and give the performer advice. Many claimed they had no right to fire him and he should sue for unlawful termination. Others were saying that depending on the state he lives in, his employers may have been fully able to fire him without any actual cause.
Fellow entertainers Dylan Matthews and Mickey Knox reached out to Mason in the replies of his original tweet. On top of advising him to seek legal help, Mickey also offered some support.
“If you have any troubles just let us know,” Mickey tweeted. “You can visit anytime we are available to do shows and whatnot. We are happy to help any way possible….”
That’s insane. I’d have to consult with a lawyer to make sure they have legal ground to fire you. I know contracts can have clause about their values. But they better have their asses covered.

Mason has had a very successful career so far. He has done scenes with major studios like FamilyDick, Brother Crush, and Colby Knox. So we’re sure he’ll be able to extend his success and become a huge A-list star as he spends more time in the industry.
We wish him the best and hope nothing like this ever happens to another performer.
Employees at will can be released from their jobs without a reason, just like the employee could quit his/her job for any reason. I love porn (obviously), however, having a double life can backfire. No judgement here, wish him all the best.
Uh, I don’t think so. I used to work for a corporation that paid several people to be rid of them (so they would agree not to sue over their dismissal). You risk trouble if you fire someone without documented cause. We were advised to document carefully any possibly problematic employee in case push came to shove.
Some employers have standards.
What a hypocritical comment since your obviously a porn consumer. What if your anonymous was taken away and it had your real name and someone told your boss and you were fired. Would your boss just be having “standards”?
Well said!
Oh shut it troll
Your own ‘standards’ for empathy don’t exist, clearly.
