As the Daily News reports, Thomas Prusik-Parkin of Brooklyn has been fooling bank and government officials since his mother Irene died in 2003. He allegedly gave a fake social security number and date of birth to the funeral director upon his mother’s death, thereby keeping her death from being reported properly to government agencies. He has since collected over $115,000 in social security checks on her behalf, shown up in a wig, dress and dark glasses to take a driver’s test, and filed for bankruptcy in order to collect $39,000 in city subsidies to pay rent.

But it gets even better!  While she was still alive, Thomas’s mother deeded their Park Slope brownstone to him, and he proceeded to take out a $200,000 mortgage to fund a failed business venture, default on the loan, and lose the building to the bank. It was then resold, and Thomas took the scam further, posing as his mother in order to claim her “son” had fraudulently signed the deed documents, and the building still legally belonged to “her.”

In essence, investigators say, he sued himself to prove that he didn’t have the title to the home and that Chopra – who also thought Irene Prusik was still alive – couldn’t have legally bought it.

Prusik-Parkin deeded the house back to his mother last year. Then he took out a mortgage for almost a million dollars in her name in April, collecting some $300,000 of the loan.

All you budding tranny con artists out there, take a lesson: Deceased female relatives aren’t a tragedy, they’re a potential windfall!
