‘Genre’ Magazine Suspends Publication; Tens Upon Tens of Readers Mourn

The company hasn’t made this much news since it faked a profile of a non-existent couple — one of whom was straight — for a cover story on “How to Stay Together Forever.” At any rate, this is sorta sad. In a statement issued this afternoon, CEO David Unger thanked readers, advertisers and staff for their support over the gay rag’s 16 year history. He added that the company hopes to “re-establish [their] relationship when times are better.”

  1. Good riddance. I subscribed over a year ago and I think maybe 3 issues hit my mailbox. Poor customer service perhaps more than a recession is the culprit.
