For those who were keeping tabs on the whereabouts of ex-porn star Robert Van Damme, there is an update today. And he will be remaining in a Czech prison for a good long while.
Van Damme, whose real name is Robert Kovarik, was first arrested here in the U.S. in 2010 for a domestic violence incident involving his then wife. He was 41 at the time. He was then extradited in 2012 for a series of armed robberies in 1999/2000 that involved a handful of targets, loot worth a couple million Czech crowns, and at least 8 other defendants. It appears Kovarik was part of a local organized crime ring, and all nine men were sentenced to between 10 and 12 years in jail, but Kovarik fled to the U.S. and started up a career as gay porn star Robert Van Damme — it’s unclear if his visibility in online porn led to his eventual arrest and extradition.
In 2013, it looked like Kovarik might be getting a reduced sentence via a retrial, or something, but now he’s finally been re-convicted and sentenced, and as Men of Porn notes today, he’ll be behind bars for nine and a half years.
Good luck fending off all that Czech prison cock, Robert.

I know Robert for years. Always nice to me. Very pleasant, smart and of course extremely handsome. He told me he got caught up in a bad situation and really regrets what he did. I wish him the best when he gets out. Everyone needs a second chance.
