We’ve recently talked about porn stars on Discovery+, porn stars invading sitcoms, and porn stars taking over reality competitions, but now it’s time to get into the newest piece of media that’s set to feature some familiar porn faces!
Vanjie: 24 Hours of Love is the latest show to come out of World of Wonder, the production company behind shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race and UNHhhh, and sees breakout Drag Race icon Vanessa “Vanjie” Mateo looking for love amongst a crowd of 18 manly suitors with one of them being The Gay Simple Life actor Dakota Payne! The show’s big twist? Dakota and the other men have less than 24 hours to make an impression on the Drag Race star as Vanjie will be eliminating one contestant every hour!
“Dakota is an actor and director in the adult entertainment industry as well as a recording artist and drag queen known as Gemini Dai,” reads Dakota’s bio for the show. “Being a porn actor and drag queen can be impediments to finding the Hallmark romance he’s looking for but he’s still hopeful his prince is out there.”
This isn’t the first time that Dakota and Vanjie have worked together. During a quarantined August 2020 edition of PLAY, the porn star game show that has previously featured porn stars fucking in front of a live audience, Vanjie made a special appearance as Dakota went against fellow porn hunks like Bruce Beckham and Riley Mitchel. If they don’t subtitle Vanjie I’m definitely not going to watch this. Between her accent, her vocabulary and that weird guttural voice she is utterly incomprehensible.

Oh, so it’s no longer kewl to say they are gay adult film stars now?
Can’t help but notice none of them make that claim in their bio’s anymore, guess it’s just a sign of our times, I mean this is the very first year since gay Pride parades have been held in NYC, that not no gay man will be amongst the group of five marshals that lead it. Of course, of the five marshals leading the parade, 4 of them are trans and one is a self described nonbinary pansexual lesbian (eye roll)
Like NYC Pride, I’ll be giving both of these a miss. If you can’t say the word gay, then why should I, a gay man, be interested in or contribute to it?
