A Historical Look At Hardcore Porn

In this teaser video from Smut Capital, John Waters and others dissect the origins of adult cinema in San Francisco’s Tenderloin. Smut is a prelude of sorts to the upcoming Chuck Holmes (founder of Falcon Studios) documentary feature, directed by Michael Stabile.

Produced by Jack Shamama, edited by Ben Leon, and also directed by Stabile, here’s a look at Smut Capital.

  1. I would have thought the origin of gay porn was New York City. As I remember reading “Boys in the Sand” with Casey Donovan actually was filmed and played there in movie theaters “after hours” to paying audiences, prior to home VCRs.

  2. This is boring, I got 4 minutes into the trailer hadn’t seen one penis. it’s a fish fest. call me when the Chuck Holmes documentary is out.
