Watch: Gang of Drag Queens Help Miley Close VMAs

Miley Cyrus brought down the house at downtown L.A.’s Orpheum Theater on Sunday night, capping off a weird but memorable hosting gig at the MTV Video Music Awards with a performance of her new song, “DOOO It,” featuring some 25 Rupaul’s Drag Race alums.

Miley has famously come out as gender-fluid in the last year or so, and maybe a lesbian, and she’s become an outspoken advocate for LGBT issues, even going as far as to start her Happy Hippie Foundation, the mission of which is to r”ally young people to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations.”

Miley’s VMA finale featured drag queens Alexis Mateo, Alyssa Edwards, Shangela, Carmen Carerra, Courtney Act, Delta Worke, Gia Gunn, Miss Fame, Trinity K. Bonet, Vivacious, and more.

Also, by the way, Miley debuted a whole new album tonight, only people don’t make albums anymore — she debuted 23 new songs that are streaming free right now, and the New York Times interviewed her about the surprise “album,” titled Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz.

  1. The way everyone was going on about this, I expected better. It’s just 3 minutes of Miley confirming that she’s a pothead (which everyone already knew) while her band played off key and the queens sashayed around until Laganja did another death drop and they shot off a fire extinguisher from Miley’s cooter. Ya-flipping-hoo.

  2. My question is did they let some of them out for Drag Race All Stars or is this a tell that say Alyssa as example is not on that show?
