I’m not saying you should find everything a gay man says funny, but with a mind “nimble enough to see [things] from a straight man’s perspective” you’d think that seeing the humor in this car blog would be child’s play — it does describe itself as trading in obnoxious but ironically self-loathing stereotypes after all.
It’s such a shame the car blog writer isn’t straight, right? Gosh, who knows how fun-ny the reaction could’ve been under that offensive angle (and your equally condescending defense of it as PC hyper-sensitivity that is actually so much more worse than the winking homophobia itself).
