The Village People’s ‘Sex Over the Phone’ (1985)

You’ve got the Village People, first of all, in their mid-80s incarnation.  Then you’ve got some hiliariously bad synth-pop.  And finally you’ve got a little known, non-hit song about gay phone sex chat lines from the height of the AIDS crisis, featuring only the barest attempt to pretend that the Village People are, as our mothers may have believed, heterosexual.

It’ll make you remember why YouTube is a modern miracle.
