That Guy Who Made Those Awful Katy Perry Videos Would Like $50,000 To Make A Documentary About Gay Rights

Well, I guess now is the time to finally pull the trigger on the gun that’s been pointed at my head for the past two or three years.

Putting aside the hilarity that the same person who is responsible for “California Gays” wishes to now make “profound” movies about bone marrow transplants, why and how is this proposed documentary any different than what any other YouTube video or gay blog post on QueertyAdvocateUnicornBootyJoeMyGodHuffPostGay.com etc. does on a daily basis? Unless someone can show me how this will be any different, I don’t see this as anything more than another vanity project. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! All art is self-serving to a certain degree, just don’t you dare try and act like you’re trying to save the fucking world (unless the Sally Struthers act is all an ironic part of the art, but I don’t think this boob is creative enough for that).

As of this posting, Ryan James Yezak’s Kickstarter campaign has already raised $45,000 of the $50,000 he’s requested. $50,000? To document how two faggots were kicked out of a Chick-fil-A for french kissing? The only thing worse than Yezak’s maudlin pleas are the dopes who’ve donated to him. Idiots. Look, I know. Is it true that what he’s doing isn’t hurting anyone? Yes. But then it is also true that self-serving, self-victimization that appeals to the lowest common denominator of fellow self-victims doesn’t actually do anything to advance gay rights. Sorry, but capitalizing on how much people H8 us bores me. At this point, why don’t we all just jerk off together and cry.

Oh, and did you see this? The teaser/promo for Yezak’s documentary?

You know, if I had the time to cobble clips from Ellen and Glee and C-SPAN and local news together and call it a teaser for my documentary, maybe I could raise $50,000, too. Of course, I’d need to get the licensing and pay for all the clips I was using, especially the one of Dustin Lance Black at the Oscars, because AMPAS would have my entire video pulled faster than you can say “copyright infringement.” But who has the time for all that when you’re trying to save the world, right?

Also, if Ryan James Yezak cared about gay rights, he wouldn’t set gays back 10,000 years by depicting them like he routinely does in his “parody” videos. I simply can’t wait to see how he imparts his, uhh, nuance on the documentary film genre.

  1. I went to college with him, and he was such a spoiled, prissy bitch who had dreams of making Britney Spears videos and being on Paris Hilton’s My BFF show. He also help found a gay frat that was supposed to be all inclusive, but was exactly like a real frat where they turned away gay people for not acting or looking how they wanted. I’m guessing his pop diva, music video dreams didn’t happen so he has to capitalize on gay rights. What’s funny is that in his call for stories of struggle, he ironically doesn’t mention gay bullying when he was not the most accepting, compassionate gay person in Texas. I actually don’t remember him doing much activism either, well ones where his face couldn’t be plastered as the spotlight. Can’t wait to see how it unfolds, and surprised his wealthy family still doesn’t support all of his needs.

  2. That video is AWFUL…..a bunch of queens wearing makeup, lip syncing & dancing around like girls.
If that’s what he has to offer, I’ll take a raincheck.

  3. Your criticism might be more welcomed if the ads filing the side of your site weren’t of cock being sucked and guys getting fisted….don’t throw stones.
