It all started when ever-meta Rhodes dressed as Sagat for Halloween and posted a picture of him wearing Francois’s now-famous mask while musing over his recent loss of his own sense of self. (Perhaps he should have gone as Elizabeth Wertzel.)

An ocean away, Sagat was stumbling through the rain as a drunken psychopath, a costume which could quite easily have been read as a tribute to Rhodes. In a solitary sulk captured by a friendly videographer, Sagat turns to the camera and addresses Rhodes by his given name, James.

“You took my mask James, but I’m very happy that you did. Do you want to marry me? Do you?”
