Joe Gage’s Dad Takes A Fishing Trip (watch it in full on NakedSword) scored multiple nods at this year’s GayVNs–Best Picture, Director, Actor, Supporting Actor, and the bellwether Best Cumshot–but have you seen it? As a Ray Dragon/Gage Media release, it’s not from one of the better known studios (Titan, Channel One, Raging) that judges typically award, but it is from legendary director Joe Gage, a GayVN Hall of Fame inductee who, surprisingly, has never won for directing.
Considering all of the other Best Picture nominees (C1R’s Taken, Raging’s Focus/Refocus, Titan’s Overdrive, Eurocream’s Houseboy, Falcon’s Asylum, and Lucas Entertainment’s Obsession) were released 7,000 years ago (in porn years), there’s no overwhelming hype for one movie to influence the judges. Might they go for Dad Takes A Fishing Trip, the little intergenerational fuck fest that could?
I polled the judges, and while some are sticking to the tried and true (“It’s Focus’ to lose!”), others would like to see an upset (“I hope it’s Taken!”). With votes split in varied directions, anything could happen.
