Apparently they’re a little hard to maintain and keep legal!  Ning will be shutting down all the hosted networks effective January 1st.  The team over at Ning is apologetic, but basically admit that the adult portion of their business was not their main focus and was more work than it was worth.

Our focus is on creating incredibly simple, beautiful software and rapidly adding new features for the benefit of all. We can’t do that as efficiently as we need to and still support adult networks on Ning. It’s that simple.

Pierre Fitch, who had built his own site on Ning called Meet Pierre Fitch, is pissed!

And now we also hear YouTube is banning ‘suggestive’ videos!  Even the ones that are pure art where there’s no nudity like the many fine works of Francois Sagat.  This is an outrage.  We’re seriously going to fuck some shit up if this is true.
