The two towns have been gay havens dating back to the thirties; if the Pines is the Island’s Chelsea, Cherry Grove is its East Village. According to Nardicio, his parties in Cherry Grove have attracted so many of the regular patrons at bars in the Pines that Pines bar owners secured legal action to prevent Pines residents from taking water taxis to Cherry Grove.

In protest, Nardicio organized a “Panty Revolution Party” last weekend where porn stars and Pines residents marched for a half-hour through the dense underbrush to reach the Grove where Nardicio and porn star buddies Owen Hawk and Victor Steele danced until the wee hours.
