The central issue for the judge, according to the BBC, was whether a cartoon character depicts a real person. The defense argued that the cartoon porn in question is a clear departure from reality. But the judge decided that, cartoon or not, the Simpsons porn could “fuel demand for material that does involve the abuse of children.”

The man was sentenced to pay a $5,000 fine. D’oh.
