Gay Web Series ‘Trailing’ Is Kind Of Like ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Meets ‘Veep’ Meets ‘Looking’

Young gay writer/creator Steven Phillips-Horst has launched a new gay web series, starring himself, and based apparently on his own experiences in political consulting.

As GQ tells us, Phillips-Horst used to work for New York mayor Bill de Blasio, and his month-old series “Trailing” follows the tribulations of “a disaffected intern working at an ill-fated political consulting firm that prepares campaigns for D-list clients.” His nightmare boss is played by 30 Rock alum Joanna Bradley, and she’s based on one of Phillips-Horst’s former bosses, naturally.

He tells GQ, “I kind of hope my ex-boss sees it. I hope that she would be very offended.”

There are now 7 episodes online, and they’re all super short, so dig right in.

Here’s the hilarious trailer, and Episodes 1 and 2.
