Gay Teens Find Way To Heterosexuality Through Musical Theater

The show, written by Tom Acito, is now playing at San Francisco’s New Conservatory Theater in a production directed by F. Allen Sawyer, and it gets a fairly glowing review in today’s Examiner.  To wit:

Like most good fairy tales, “Zanna, Don’t!” is frothy on top and shot through with some fairly serious issues underneath. Though never overtly mentioned, upset over the recent election hovers over the story, and though Zanna and his pals find their fairy tale ending with diversity, respect and love, the real world outside of Heartsville is desperately in need of some magic… and show tunes!

Yeah, uh, we’re not sure which is going to be more effective: porn stars protesting for gay marriage, or dancing queens writing ironic protest musicals.  But sure, sounds way gayer than the Prop 8 musical. Here’s a preview:
