The Shocking Audacity Of Nope

“This was a white-lash against a changing country. It was a white-lash against a black president in part, and that’s the part where the pain comes.”~Van Jones. Pundits and porn stars agree.

Election 2016. When sense and sensibility was lost in a Brexist vote hijacked by the rust belt’s angry white folks having their last stand. One term presidency? Most likely. Damage done during that period? Remains to be seen. Whatever happens, unlike reality TV, there’s no fast-forwarding during the commercials. When in many ways, this is a commercial for the worst America has to offer.

I expected to be celebrating a Clinton victory and dealing with the defeat of Prop 60. There may be good news on the latter. I will wait until it’s official but look forward to any speck of the positive to report. This could be much more than a speck. Watch this blog.

Van Jones on CNN was able to articulate some of what is behind the shock we are all trying to process.

“This was a white-lash against a changing country,” he said. “It was a white-lash against a black president in part, and that’s the part where the pain comes. And Donald Trump has a responsibility tonight to come out and reassure people that he is going to be the president of all the people who he insulted and offended and brushed aside.”

…. and then there’s this ….

… but herein lies the truth …

Please pray for the health and longevity of all current Supreme Court Justices.

PS: James Comey, Gary Johnson, and Julian Assange, fuck you.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled pornography.

  1. What do I think? Do you REALLY want to know?

Well for a start, this is the second time this year we have seen sense and sensibility “fly out the window’ – so to speak.

First was the UK vote to leave the European Union with “BREXIT” which is just the start of the total breakup of Europe as many of us know it.

And now the US election which has put someone in the position of (supposedly) being the “leader of the free world”. Now a “wait and see” game of just how many of the freedoms many of us have worked so hard for over the past fifty years – give or take a year or two – rapidly eroded away.

Will close with my favorite line from “Desiderata” – “Go placidly amidst the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence…” – just remember, don’t be too silent….
